Client Reviews May 25, 2007 We highly recommend Sustainable Organic Landscapes! When we moved from the Northwest to the Central Coast several years ago, I was shocked that our new home was surrounded by water thirsty grass. Not only did the lawn require constant mowing, it was a gopher's paradise in the middle of ranch land. Over the years, I interviewed a half dozen landscaping companies to replace the turf. But most didn't understand our extreme conditions. We needed a tough but striking native ecosystem that could stand wind, tolerate deer, resist gophers and ground squirrels, and most of all, take little or no water. In short, we needed what loved to grow here in the first place! Mike Kilcoyne and his Sustainable Organic Landscapes crew restored our land to exquisite wildness. Now flannel bush, deer grasses, hummingbird, white, black and Cleveland sages, red bud and live oak trees, and dozens of other California native plants are forming a plant community at our home. We already watch the California thrashers, finches, phoebes and blue birds checking out their new "digs." Skinks and lizards warm themselves on the flagstone path. Swallowtail butterflies flutter on the yarrow. And we enjoy sitting on our new bench area in awe! Our thanks to Mike and his crew!
